A
BabyPlus father emailed us regarding what he is seeing in his (darling!) baby.
In his own words:

"This is a photo of our son. From week 18 until his birthday on 8/9/10 we used
BabyPlus twice daily. He nursed within 30 minutes of being born, appears very alert and can already focus on our faces and turns his head to certain sounds and our voices. The attached photo is
our son at 2 weeks of age. I was holding him up under the arms with his head laid back, and all the sudden when the photographer made a sound he lifted his little head up and she snapped this precious shot. His mother and I may be biased but he looks so alert, and inquisitive, like he wants to ask you a question. We can not wait to see what the future holds for our
BabyPlus baby. We plan on being pregnant this time next year, and
BabyPlus will be a staple of that pregnancy as well.
Thank you for a great product."
We agree - he is so alert - and his neck is so strong. This just affirms why over 250,000+ BabyPlus babies have been born to date all over the world. Consistently, parents of BabyPlus babies report the benefits of this amazing prenatal curriculum. BabyPlus parents tell us that their babies are relaxed and alert at birth, nurse well, have an increased ability to self-soothe and are interactive and responsive.

I just received this sweet note from one of our
BabyPlus moms. I believe it sums up what we feel is so important about prenatal learning during pregnancy. It's all abo

ut strengthening the foundation of what your little one already has!
"I just dropped off my first
BabyPlus baby at her first day of Kindergarten. I couldn’t be more proud at this very instant knowing that I’ve done everything humanly possible to start her out on the right foot.
As I tell people, expensive diaper bags, strollers and infant toys are nice, but
BabyPlus lasts a LIFETIME.
And yes, still eyes welling as I type this… I held it together for her in the classroom, but the drive home was a different story. "

Seventeen years ago this month, Mattel and Fisher Price Toys companies merged. My favorite toys growing up were Barbies and Little People and seeing these toys in the store brings back many happy memories.
Toys are such an integral part of a child's development. Kids are learning while they play. Age-appropriate toys are important as well - you wouldn't give a metal erector set to a one-year-old. You would start off with soft, squishy blocks. After that, you could give him or her foam blocks and eventually you could introduce wooden or plastic pieces. You start with the simple and basic before moving to the next level.
This philosophy is the idea behind
BabyPlus, which uses age-appropriate sounds during critical stages of fetal development. By introducing simple sounds relevant to your baby's environment--your heartbeat--you will be able to strengthen cognitive development. You will be able to move on to more complex sounds, such as music, after your little one is born.
Much like a prenatal vitamin encourages strong physical development in your baby, BabyPlus encourages strong cognitive development during pregnancy. You can find out more details at
www.babyplus.com and read other families' experiences.
All parents know that learning actually begins before your child goes to school. Learning really begins in the womb. Everyone knows that baby development after birth is important.

However, the research now confirms that
the critical period in prenatal development - especially early brain development - is impacted week by week in pregnancy. Using the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System - a simple set of sounds similar to the mother's heartbeat - helps during the stages of prenatal development.
Don't wait to begin teaching your baby after he or she is born - help them to be born already learning!

What does this mean, exactly? Well, here at
BabyPlus US, we are happy to explain!
BabyPlus is a curriculum that is a series of 16 naturally derived sounds that resemble a mother's heartbeat. The rhythm of the sounds increases incrementally as your pregnancy progresses.
This "auditory exercise" strengthens learning ability during the developmental period when the advantages will be most significant and enduring for a child.
Simply put,
BabyPlus sounds just like what your baby already knows (your heartbeat!). The
BabyPlus lessons provide just enough variation during the critical period in prenatal development. Your baby can very clearly hear these patterns. Your baby learns to tell the

difference between the sound coming from you and those from
BabyPlus.
In other words, learning has begun!

I say it all the time - we LOVE LOVE LOVE getting pictures of "our" BabyPlus babies. The two darlings have a four year old sibling, so this BabyPlus mom knows the benefits of

using the
BabyPlus Prenatal Education System.
We have many sets of multiples whose parents used
BabyPlus during pregnancy. The feedback we receive from these parents consistently indicates that their babies are exhibiting the tangible benefits of using the
BabyPlus curriculum.
"Our" parents of multiples have seen the same benefits (better sleeping, nursing, self soothing, school readiness, etc.) as the mothers of single babies. Frequently, twins are born early, and the mothers of babies who were not full term have seen amazing results. We have had mothers of premature babies report that their babies are reaching their milestones based on their birth age, as opposed to gestational age. They have also reported shorter hospital stays when compared to other premature babies.
BabyPlus is a series of 16 Lessons based on the mother's heartbeat. Used during the critical period in
prenatal development, this innovative prenatal care curriculum will provide your baby (or babies!) with an appropriate amount of stimulation. The benefits of infant stimulation are many - read any article on prenatal development and you will learn that baby development after birth is directly impacted by what happens in the day by day pregnancy.

When I was pregnant, I didn't have any friends or relatives pregnant at the same time. It would have been nice to share details and have someone with a child around the same age to play with.
This won't be a problem for four sisters from Chicago who were not only pregnant at the same time but all had their babies within four days of each other! What fun

!
Their story is here.
Another set of sisters who were pregnant at the same time, gave birth in January, February and March of 2010. (Dr. Phil's daughter-in-law is one of them.) In fact, they were featured together on the
Rachael Ray Show and promoted BabyPlus as one of their favorite pregnancy items. They understood how the benefits of a simple set of sounds during important stages of fetal development can strengthen learning for a lifetime!

BabyPlus and what other parents say by clicking on the logo below.
I cannot believe I have a son going into high school and another going into sixth grade! When did I "grow up?" The time from the joy of finding out you are pregnant to the joy of their first steps to the many other joyous occasions seems to literally fly by.
I remember being pregnant with my first son and how I couldn't believe the world didn't stop just because I was pregnant. Even though I was sick from the day I found out until the day I gave birth, there isn't a minute I would go back and change. With my second son, I was so exhausted from being pregnant and chasing a three-year-old that I don't have many detailed memories of either the pregnancy or the first couple years. I do, however, remember how they adored each other and to this day are very close.
Each day of pregnancy is a gift because you'll blink and it will be over. Yes, you'll have all new phases and adventures but there's something so special about it being just the two of you. Blog, journal, and record your thoughts because no matter how much you think you'll remember the little things, so many new ones will take their place. Nothing compares to seeing a picture of your now high school student on his first day of kindergarten with the look of excitement yet insecurity. You remember how fast life really goes.
There have been several mentions of stress levels and the effects of stress on pregnancies. Many articles have shown that stress not only affects the health of the mother but her baby as well. Relaxation is encouraged for moms and there are many ways this can be accomplished.
Taking time each day to relax--even for five minutes--can do wonders for how you feel. Taking a walk or stretching can be both emotionally and physically beneficial. A soak in the tub with relaxing scents can also make you feel better after a long day. Another way to relax and do something great for your baby at the same time is to use BabyPlus lessons.
BabyPlus' recommended usage is one hour, twice a day. While you do not have to sit or be still to use the lessons, it's a great excuse to sit and close your eyes with your feet up. Knowing your little one is building a strong foundation for learning during critical stages of fetal development is a great stress reliever in itself!
Can't hardly believe that Danica McKellar is pregnant! Danica McKellar is best known for her role as Winnie in The Wonder Years. Danica McKellar married composer Mike Verta last year, and now they are pregnant!
According to the
article Danica is reading "a lot about parenthood." The article listed several books she is reading about parenting and what happens after delivery.
Danica will also likely want to know more about what happens
BEFORE delivery - in the prenatal period. The prenatal period is critical to the lifelong learning process of your baby. Using the
BabyPlus Prenatal Education System - a simple, safe set of sounds based on the mother's heartbeat - while pregnant encourages cognitive development. Danica will find out that learning in the womb is not a new idea - many cultures have believed in and practiced forms of
prenatal stimulation for years.
Since this is Danica McKellar's first pregnancy, she will likely read about the stages of fetal development and all the stages through pregnancy. Being first time parents, Danica and Mike will be encouraged by the many parents who report that using BabyPlus positively impacted the infant sleeping schedule. BabyPlus parents all over the world report their BabyPlus babies more readily nurse, have increased ability to self-soothe, and have great sleeping habits.
BabyPlus congratulates Danica McKellar, her husband Mike Verta and their baby!(
I feel old!)
The past few weeks' temperatures have been quite uncomfortable, even for warm weather fans. I can only imagine what it must be like for those moms-to-be whose body temperatures are above normal!
It is important for everyone to stay hydrated and not overexert themselves during the dangerous heat, but there are extra precautions to take during pregnancy. You may read
Pregnant During the Summer Months on the Pregnancy Today website. It's a great article that shows you how to avoid overheating and signs and symptoms to watch for. It is very important to both mother and baby to keep from getting overheated and to stay safe during the peak summer months.
in her own words:
"I'm a proud mother of 3
BabyPlus "graduates." I first read about the
BabyPlus System in

Parenting Magazine in spring of 2004 when I found out I was pregnant with my first. I could not be happier with my choice and advocacy to my husband that I wanted to use this system. All 3 of my children ranging from 5 1/2 years to 23 1/2 months have always hit their milestones well before the "norm." I've used a
BabyPlus system with my pregnancies because after seeing the benefits of the first I couldn't bring myself to chance it and
highly recommend it to anyone looking for something that will benefit a child for the rest of their life."
We thank all of "our" parents for choosing to use BabyPlus with their children!

We are thrilled to learn that Christina Applegate is expecting a baby! We are confident she will want to know the tangible benefits of using the
BabyPlus Prenatal Education System.
Christina Applegate is a busy working mom-to-be, so she will be happy with the benefits that
BabyPlus parents all over the world describe:
BabyPlus babies nurse more readily, have an increased ability to self-soothe, are more interactive and responsive, and are more relaxed and alert at birth.
BabyPlus is a curriculum that is a series of 16 naturally derived sounds that resemble a mother's heartbeat. The rhythm of the sounds increases incrementally as your pregnancy progresses. The amazing information for first-time parents is that learning actually begins
IN THE WOMB.
BabyPlus wishes Christina Applegate and her baby the very best!
Using
BabyPlus during pregnancy is such a wonderful lifelong gift to your little one. The simple set of sounds strengthens cognitive development during such an important time during fetal development. The
BabyPlus system is a very reliable product. However, a problem can occasionally occur, and it is usually a battery issue.
There are several things you may want to try. First, be sure you have a fresh set of alkaline batteries. As you probably know, the BabyPlus requires fresh batteries every 7-10 days to operate at optimum performance. Even new batteries at the store could be old. We recommend Duracell brand battery, but we do not recommend rechargeable batteries.
The next thing you can do is check the battery contacts. Sometimes a battery can accidentally bend a contact. You can create a tighter fit by removing the batteries and pulling the contacts out a bit. There are two sets of thin metal flaps with raised dots on each side of the battery casing for a total of four. Take your pinky fingernail or a paperclip and gently pull out the flaps to create a tighter connection for the battery making sure not to snap the contact.
Finally, you can remove the batteries and let the system discharge stored energy for 45 minutes to an hour. Then, insert a new set of fresh alkaline batteries.
If these suggestions do not help, there are several ways you may contact customer service for more suggestions. Visit

These are the words of a UK BabyPlus "mum""I was recommended
BabyPlus by a friend who used it during her two pregnancies and raved about it. To be perfectly honest I was skeptical but after reading up on it decided that it couldn’t do any harm so thought that I had
nothing to lose. I began using it at 18 weeks of pregnancy as the manufacturer recommends for an hour in the morning (I set the alarm an hour earlier to put it on in bed!!) and an hour after work. I soon grew to love this time as it was a part of the day that I could really focus on the pregnancy and the baby. At about week 20, the baby started to kick and soon would
move and squirm during our `sessions’ which was wonderful so if nothing else I felt that I was really bonding with the baby. I wasn’t religious in using it and missed the odd lesson but fit them in whenever I could.
My baby arrived on his due date and at birth his eyes were wide open and he was alert observing his surroundings. He latched on fairly easily straight away and has been a good feeder ever since. His sleeping patterns were fairly sociable from the off and he slept through the night from about 3 months which I believe is unusual! He is developing well and I get many comments about how he seems advanced for his age. He is my first baby so I don’t know but certainly he seems to be slightly ahead of his buddies of the same age from the antenatal classes.
It’s hard to say whether or not
BabyPlus is the reason that our little boy is doing so well but is does seem a coincidence and having convinced other friends of it’s
benefits and who have used it they seem to be sharing the same experience. I think that there are many factors that contribute to a happy baby but I would say that if I was to have another child I would certainly use
BabyPlus again because I feel it would be unfair not to give my other children the same start. It may be on the pricy side but it is well worth the investment giving the amount of research that is reported to have gone into the product, and certainly my experience is that it does seem to work! If I had another child, I would not want to miss out on giving them the same opportunity.
I don’t think buying this is about trying to make your baby a genius but if you are interested in giving your baby a bit of a headstart, surely it’s worth a go! There’s lots of useful info on the
BabyPlus website about the
scientific research which is great if you need a bit more convincing!"
