BabyPlus -- Know the Whole Story

Monday, December 22, 2008 by Shelly Keefe

I have written many times about how enjoyable working in Customer Service at BabyPlus is.  I must now vent a bit about something that is a little frustrating to me.  There are people who truly do not know exactly what BabyPlus is and then feel they can write about something they don't even know about.

I guess I take it personally because I truly love this company and believe in the concept of prenatal curriculum.  It's easy to feel hurt when someone tells only half a story about an idea that is important to you.  I can respect someone else's opinion...only as long as they have all the facts and know all the details.  I know that there will be people who, even after researching, don't agree with the ideas of learning in the womb and encouraging cognitive development during stages of fetal development.  However, I know that science is always discovering new and exciting developments and it's only time before society catches up.

When the concept of prenatal curriculum is broken down to its basic concepts, it makes complete sense.  If the mother's heartbeat encourages learning before birth, it makes sense to use a derivative to reinforce it.  I think that sometimes people do not take the time to learn and make up their minds before they truly know the entire picture.  If they did, they would learn that we are not promising genius babies or perfect babies.  We are just offering a tool that enhances the blueprint that the baby will already be born with.

So the next time you think you know everything about something, take a few extra minutes to make sure you are right and that you have the whole story.
