BabyPlus -- Moving Into The Future

I'm going to get a bit off topic of prenatal curriculum and fetal development but I feel that it's important not only to us as a nation but our unborn babies as well.  After all, it is the future that they will someday inherit.

Barack Obama is now officially President of the United States.  What a ride.  The months leading up to the party elections as well as the Presidential election itself were quite intense.  Many feelings were strong and emotions were heightened.  I saw a couple heated arguments about why people felt that their candidate was the best and why the other person's candidate was not.  My boys, who were 13 and 9 at the time, would come home with quotes from classmates about the election and the candidates.  Now, boys of that young age aren't totally unaware of the world around them but the Presidential Election probably isn't on the top of their list of things to pay attention to.  My theory is that kids were repeating a lot of what they would hear at home.  The day after the election, I told my boys that they would probably hear a lot of things at school about President Obama but the votes were in and the decision had been made.  Everyone may not agree on the winner but the point was to support and back the current leader.

So while your candidate may or may not have won, we all have a common denominator-to better our country for the present as well as the future.  What we do today will impact what we pass on to our children as well as their children.  Wouldn't it be more productive to put aside differences and look at the big picture?  President Obama has a lot of pressure on him.  The whole world is going to be watching his every decision and every action.  Whether I voted for him or not, I do support him and pray he makes the best decisions for me, my children, my country, and my world.
