Attitudes are shifting! Common sense about the prenatal environment is here!Everyone understands the negatives of the prenatal environment on fetal development. We know that when a woman drinks alcohol during pregnancy, she risks giving birth to a child who will pay the price — in mental and physical deficiencies — for his or her entire life. Fetal

alcohol syndrome will impact a baby physically and developmentally forever.
What about the positives?Doesn't it make sense that if the negatives can impact your child forever, so can the positives?
Everything that is enriching should start early - and early means the critical times in child development - while you are still pregnant.
Begin using the
BabyPlus Prenatal Education System during the 18th week of your pregnancy or later and you will benefit your baby's development in profound ways.
Remember -anything you do as an expectant mother and during pregnancy lasts a lifetime for your child!

Boy time is flying by! It feels like my sister-in-law just announced she was pregnant! I read on her Facebook page last night she was less than six weeks away from her ultrasound and will find out if she's having a boy or a girl. I personally think she is having a girl because her

pregnancy is completely different than her pregnancy with my nephew. Plus, we have five boys on that side and a girl would be a fun change! (But, either way will be fine, of course!)
All expectant moms just want a happy, healthy baby. That's a universal idea--and so is the mother's heartbeat. This is the foundation for BabyPlus and is something that moms around the world can use no matter what language they speak. It's amazing that something as simple as a mother's heartbeat can influence a child's lifetime! I know my sister-in-law is excited to begin using it and I can't wait to see the results her and my brother will experience too!

A Weighty Issue
by Marcia Ellett (July, 2009)

Weight is a sensitive subject for many women even when they’re not expecting. Add the raging hormones of pregnancy into the mix and we may need to be talked off the ledge. Fortunately, when it comes to the notion of eating for two there is plenty of sound advice out there.
According to the Institute of Medicine, if you’re planning to have a family but aren’t yet expecting, the best course of action is to make sure you’re at a healthy weight before you get pregnant. Being either underweight or overweight poses risks to both mother and child, with obesity during pregnancy raising the potential for backaches, leg pain, varicose veins, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes and increased risk of cesarean delivery in mothers-to-be.
Reality is, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 35

percent of women in this country fall into the obese category. That statistic has spurred new guidelines for the amount of weight American women should gain during pregnancy.
Figuring weight categories by measuring body mass index (BMI), the revised pregnancy weight gain guidelines are as follows:
- Underweight women (BMI less than 18.5): 28 to 40 pounds
- Normal weight women (BMI 18.5 to 24.9): 25 to 35 pounds
- Overweight women (BMI 25 to 29.9): 15 to 25 pounds
- Obese women (BMI 30 or above): 11 to 20 pounds
Using BabyPlus during the prenatal period enhances cognitive development. The news seems to be buzzing right now about the fact that mothers should take omega-3 fatty acid during pregnancy for "brain development." We are all saying the same thing!First, what exactly are omega-3s? With a small amount of research I was able to learn that

they are fatty acids that are good for you. Your body can't produce them, so you need to get them another way. How can we get omega-3s into our diet? Most articles mention flax seeds, walnuts, beans, some fish (such as salmon), olive oil - even cod liver oil! (Please remember to first check with your health care provider to see what what he or she thinks.)
According to an archived article at webmd.com, "researchers found that infants born to mothers with higher blood levels of the omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) at delivery had advanced levels of attention spans well into their second year of life. During the first six months of life, these infants were two months ahead of those babies whose mothers had lower DHA levels."
(two months ahead!)
You can read a great article about omega-3's and pregnancy at pregnancy-info.com by clicking on their picture to the left.
Or, go to www.dha.com - "a dedicated resource for new and expectant mothers, healthcare

professionals and media, which focuses on two vital nutrients for a baby’s development: DHA omega-3 and AA omega-6."
The importance of the prenatal period has never been more clear - your baby is impacted for a lifetime by your choices now. This is a critical time in the development of your child. Remember to be well-balanced and not to overdo anything!
Another great testimonial - this time from a BabyPlus parent who has a degree in Child Development...
"As soon as I found the Baby Plus system, I knew it was for me. I have a degree in Child Development and I own a private school educating children from birth to primary grades. I am constantly researching ways to stimulate development. It makes total sense to start that stimulation in the womb while the brain is developing! I used the Baby Plus system faithfully from 18 weeks on. And like others, I also endured constant questioning from skeptic. I'm sure they feel silly now!! My daughter turned 17 months old today and she is by far the brightest child of her age that I have ever known. And that is saying a lot!
Directly after birth she was alert and tracking voices. She would even turn her head to follow my husband! She has met every milestone very early. She said her first words at 4 months. She was talking in sentences by 10 months. Now, at seventeen months she knows the names of all 80 children at our school. She can identify letters and can even write "M"s and "A"s. She can identify and sort by colors. She sings full songs. She can count to 10. She has always been extremely friendly and outgoing. At 15 months she had COMPLETED all of her 2 year milestones.
I will continue to recommend Baby Plus to every expectant mother I meet. And to all the baby plus parents out there... don't underestimate what your child can do! Provide them with every experience possible and they will continuously surprise you!
BS Child Development, Preschool/Primary School Owner/Director, and proud Parent!!!!!!!"
Thank you - we couldn't have said it better ourselves!
BabyPlus was in an Australian paper - the Sydney Morning Herald - and a few other news stories. We are in an article on "gadgets."
We are sometimes referred to as a "gadget." The definition of a gadget is a device or control that is very useful for a particular job. The BabyPlus is very useful for using the mother's heartbeat sounds during the critical period of fetal development. So, in this sense, I guess our system could be a gadget.
But, as parents, how do we know what to purchase? How do we know if something we buy is money well spent? The best way to know, we have found, is from other parents. Parents who use BabyPlus recommend us to other expectant parents. 97% of BabyPlus parents would recommend the BabyPlus Prenatal Education system to an expectant mother to use during her pregnancy. That is a great endorsement!
Please click on our logo below to see how the BabyPlus is useful for the particular job of using the mother's heartbeat sounds day by day in your pregnancy during the stages of fetal development to give your child a lifetime of learning potential.
Guys are very important, too!
Many of our customers are male - dads, uncles, brothers, even grandfathers! (We had a grandfather who is expecting twin grandbabies...he called us...very fun conversation...but that is for another day...) Everyone can be a part of the expectant mother's pregnancy - whether this is a first pregnancy or not - by understanding that the fetal environment is critical.
I was on the phone yesterday with a BabyPlus Uncle. He was telling me cute stories about his 1-1/2 year old BabyPlus niece. He was so neat - he went on and on - he told me a story of how she uses the potty! (We make no claims whatsoever about that!)
My conclusion is that dads (and other male relatives) are more involved in the
prenatal time period now than ever before. There are even pregnancy and baby books written specifically for dads.
