BabyPlus - Global Availability

As founder of the BabyPlus Company, my primary goal is not what you may think. As much as we seek to grow the sales and distribution of BabyPlus, I have many wonderful co-workers who see that we develop a strong brand name in the marketplace.

While this pursuit is certainly desirable for any company in this very new and exciting educational niche, I am more interested in something else. I am more interested in further validation of this profound developmental tool. This validation will lead naturally to building further awareness of prenatal education and, most importantly, increased availability of BabyPlus for the critical period in prenatal development. My personal desire is that we are able to bring this curriculum to all corners of the world with no socio-economic divisions. A prenatal vitamin is indeed available in the U.S, at least, for any expectant mom who seeks this out. The benefits of this supplement are so well-documented that an expectant mom can provide these life-long developmental benefits for her child, no matter her economic constraints.  We are approaching a time when the benefits of infant stimulation and the idea of learning in the womb won't even be questioned, much like good nutrition in a pregnancy.

Your baby is born to learn - and you can impact their ability for a lifetime by using the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System during your pregnancy.  The BabyPlus is a set of 16 simple lessons that mimic your heartbeat - the only sound a developing baby truly recognizes.

The BabyPlus is the use of the mother's heartbeat sounds used as fetal enrichment. This idea that is not new and has been researched and developed by many prenatal scientists.  However, the heartbeat is the only sound your baby actually recognizes.  That is why the BabyPlus is the only significant prenatal program to use to during this critical period in prenatal development.

Please click on the heart to learn why your heartbeat is the best tool for a prenatal curriculum.

Connect With Your Baby Before He's Born

Another news article about BabyPlus...this one was in the August 2008 edition of the magazine Pregnancy&Newborn.  Author Ginny Butler explores "your relationship with the budding life within you."  Her article discusses the development of your baby's hearing in the prenatal environment.  This is a great article on prenatal development and learning/listening in the womb.

For about a month, I have been tallying responses from a survey sent out to over 200 previous BabyPlus users.  I was excited to see the results.  There were so many positive comments and hearing about the role that BabyPlus played in prenatal development reinforces the benefits after birth.

To summarize:  75% of moms started using BabyPlus between 18-22 weeks, which is the recommended time to begin.  82% of moms used BabyPlus consistently, two times a day on most days.  This was interesting because most moms who started during the recommended time and used the lessons consistently were more likely to complete the entire prenatal curriculum.  Lastly, and the most exciting, is that 95% of moms would recommend BabyPlus to a friend!

Getting positive feedback and reading about the results of using BabyPlus firsthand just reinforces what we have always said about the benefits of learning in the womb.

In your on going quest to become the best father you can be, I know you have been scouring the books, surfing the web and asking advice from everyone. You have read about Prenatal Care, the stages of fetal development and even prenatal learning! (if you have not learned about prenatal learning check out www.babyplus.com) Some of you brave blokes have probably even talked to someone about breast feeding. That’s very important. Well we are not going to talk about that here.

I am going to tell you how you can have a great impact on your child. You just have to remember one thing. The Mother-To-Be. If your mom-to-be is a happy mom, everyone is happy. I took a survey in my office about the most thoughtful thing a man could do for the mom-to-be in his life, and many of them said. “Take the kids out of the house so I could have some alone time in my own house.”  Yes, gentlemen,  it’s a simple request, doesn’t cost much and means so much to her.

So why not gather up the kids one day and take them away? It could be as low key and a trip to the local park or playground. Take sandwiches so you don’t have to spend a bundle at the fast food restaurant. Take them to the library for some reading program. Libraries are full of activities for kids of all ages. You can always go visit Grandma and Grandpa. There just might be some good treats there!

After a long day with you, bring the kids home and keep them calm and quiet. If you are really good, you can even put them to bed!  Your mom-to-be will think she’s in heaven and you will have created a life long memory for you and your children.

It’s easy – now go out and do it.

Hey Dad-to-be! Pregnancy isn't just for women. If your woman is pregnant there is a lot you can do. I know you have been reading a bunch of articles on Prenatal development, baby stimulation and fetal development. You have seen everything there is about Critical period in prenatal development, having a smart baby and fetal brain development.

But what do you know about taking care of your new mom-to-be? Let me tell you that a happy mom-to-be = a healthy mom-to-be = a healthy baby. And you can do something about it. In the next several blogs I will tell you how you can pamper the mom-to-be in your life.

The Pampering Dad-To-Be Massage

The healthiest and safest time to begin having pregnancy massages is in your second trimester. Lying on your back is  not a good idea after the 20th week of pregnancy, so the position that works best is to have your mom-to-be straddle a chair, with the back facing her front. This works especially well if you place the chair in front of a table, and then stack one or two pillows over the back, allowing them to spill out on to the tabletop. This will enable her to lean forward during the massage and rest her head.

Now, lubricate your hands with either high-quality commercial massage oil, or one you make yourself. This can be done by combining a few drops of a relaxing essential oil, such as lavender or chamomile, with a carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba. Be sure to warm the oil by pouring a small amount into your hands and rubbing them together. This is an important step, since cold oil causes muscles to tense, causing her to feel stressed.

Now, place your hands on her lower back just below the waistline, and slowly begin sliding up her back on either side of her spine. Never massage directly on the backbone, or over the spinal column. As you reach her shoulders your hands should slowly move across the upper back, then down the opposite side of the spine, to the starting point. This up-and down motion should continue for at least several minutes, until the muscles of her back start to warm and relaxed.

Your can then begin applying gentle pressure to any area of her back where she is feeling pain -- using the heel of your hand or the pads of your fingers, bearing down slightly and continuing to move in a circular motion. The operative word here, however, is "gentle." The point of massage is to relax and soothe muscles, so a rubdown should never hurt. If it does, you are is pressing too hard -- so ask her if she experiencing discomfort.

Your massage finishes with a repeat of the up-and-down motion that started the back rub, done for a several more minutes. You should then wrap her body in a soft blanket or beach towel, to keep muscles warm. Have her remain in her massage position for five to 10 minutes.

The massage can be as short as 10 minutes, or as long as 60 minutes; it's not a good idea to go beyond that time limit, no matter how great it feels. During her second trimester, you can give her a massage once a week; during the third trimester, you can increase massages to twice weekly or more if needed. Again, never give her a massage during the first trimester, even by a professional therapist

Go green if you are pregnant or are thinking about getting pregnant. I’m talking about eating more green! It’s important not only for fetal brain development but also for mom’s health. The fact is, healthy prenatal development is up to you. What you do and eat will directly affect the development of your baby in every stage of fetal development. If you continue a healthy diet after your baby is born, you will enjoy better breast feeding and a healthier you.

 Your womb...the perfect classroom...

You take a prenatal vitamin every day to enrich your child's earliest physical development.

Your child's brain development begins during these prenatal months, too.

Now is the time for the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System.  Click on the picture to learn more about prenatal care, our prenatal care curriculum, and, most importantly, prenatal development facts.

Why I Love to Blog About BabyPlus!

Well, the reasons are MANY

First, the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System is an amazing educational tool for your unborn child.  As a teacher (in my previous life!), I know the importance of giving your child the best possible tools for success in life.  The prenatal time is actually very critical.  Everyone knows the value of good health and taking a vitamin; now, the idea of early brain development is really becoming more widely accepted.

Second, I love talking about the exciting time of pregnancy.  This special time in the life of mom, dad, and baby will be treasured forever.  We have found that using the prenatal care curriculum actually aids in bonding with your baby.  Week by week, through the stages of your pregnancy, you might notice your baby "anticipating" the lessons.  This is your very first communication with your baby!  Thrilling!

Third, I wore the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System with one of my own children, so I have a first hand view of the tangible benefits of using this educational curriculum.  She is now 8 years old - not really a baby anymore - and I am still amazed with her vocabulary, gross motor skills, school capabilities, reading skills...the list could go on and on (of course, because she is my child, after all!).

Fourth, who doesn't want to talk about babies????  I get to do it all day long, and I love it!  Every joyous phone call and email makes me smile.  I love your willingness to share the stories of your beautiful children.

Fifth, this company is all about family values, education, and prenatal care.  From the owner to all the co-workers, this is a team.  We all work together to impart the important scientific news that your baby is receptive to learning prenatally.

I am so lucky to come to work every day!

BabyPlus parents report about the benefits of using the BabyPlus:

Babies at birth and infancy
:
more readily nurse
display an increased ability to self-soothe
are more interactive and responsive
are more relaxed and alert at birth

And, later in life demonstrate
:
earlier developmental milestones
improved school readiness
enhanced intellectual abilities
great creativity and independence
longer attention spans

Using the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System's simple and safe lessons during the stages of pregnancy can show these tangible benefits and more.

Joyful Time

The BabyPlus Company is lucky to be able to participate in the truly joyful time of a pregnancy.  We hear from expectant parents often; we love being a part of your lives.  Every parent wants to make sure they are giving the best prenatal care available to their child.  Your amazing concern and love for your child is so evident with every phone call and email you send us.  We believe in the benefits of infant stimulation during the stages of pregnancy, and clearly, so do you!  Think of the bond you are already establishing with your baby!

You want to make sure that your BabyPlus system is in working condition for your prenatal care curriculum.  If you encounter any issues, there are several things you may want to try.

First, be sure you have a fresh set of batteries.  As you probably know, the BabyPlus requires fresh batteries every 7-10 days to operate at optimum performance. Even new batteries at the store could be old. Always check the date for fresh new batteries. We recommend the Duracell brand battery.

The next thing you can do is check the battery contacts. If they are no longer a tight fit, you can remove the batteries and pull the contacts out a bit to create a tighter fit.

In most cases, this solves any issues that you may encounter with your system so that you may get all benefits during prenatal development.

Runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes--all signs of seasonal allergies.  Day by day pregnancy has enough going on to have to worry about these annoying symptoms.  The question of whether or not you should take allergy medication during pregnancy is one between you and your doctor.  However, there are several non-drug options such as using a humidifier, using Saline nasal spray and making sure you are drinking plenty of fluids.  Talk to your doctor about other options to help alleviate allergy symptoms.  You can both work out a prenatal plan that will be safe during all stages of pregnancy.

There are many articles on Prenatal Development. Nutrition is no exception. One of the most important nutrients for pregnant women is folic acid, which has been shown to reduce the incidents of brain and nerve disorders in the developing fetus. It also encourages strong fetal brain development.  It's has been recommended that a mom-to-be increase the folic acid in her diet. Folic Acid is found in many foods, especially fruits and vegetables. Beans and grains are also an easy way to increase the folic acid in your diet. Try this easy and tasty recipe. Travels and refrigerates well. Perfect for the office.

Tortilla to Go

For a brown-bag lunch, spread flour tortilla with canned refried beans and sprinkle with shredded Jack or cheddar cheese and some chopped green onion.  Roll and wrap in plastic wrap.  Heat for 30 seconds in microwave.  Serve with salsa and lowfat sour cream.

School is back in full swing and kids are back in the classrooms, but what about the concept of a prenatal classroom?  The idea might sound new and different, but it’s fast approaching mainstream pregnancy terminology.  By using a prenatal curriculum, their cognitive ability strengthens during the prenatal development period.   In other words, your baby will have a head start after they are born and have the blueprint for building a foundation for learning.   This is all done with a safe, simple set of sounds that are patterned after the mother’s heartbeat.  Click on the link below to learn more about BabyPlus Prenatal Education System.

If this is your first pregnancy, I know that you are concerned about your infant's development.  Prenatal care is so important to not only your baby's infancy but to his health and welfare throughout his life.  One element of prenatal care should be the use of BabyPlus.  One mother of a BabyPlus child wrote recently on BabyCenter.com about her child's early benefits and her baby's development after birth.

It seems to live up to its claims!
As promised, my daughter (25 months) was born with her eyes wide open, relaxed, not crying, and nursed well in spite of being a few weeks early. Early on, many people commented on how alert she is, and now they comment on how friendly, happy, and verbally advanced she seems to be. My mother works with an early childhood education program and gave me developmental charts that professionals use, and my daughter seems to be off the charts cognitively and verbally, and somewhat ahead emotionally as well. We haven't really been pushing hard to teach her things, but she knows at least 10 colors, several shapes, and about half the alphabet and the numbers 1-9 on sight. She can count to 12 solidly, and sometimes tries to get up to about 20, is up to 4 word phrases, and engages in lots of pretend play. She doesn't get upset very easily, and if she is upset, she recovers very quickly. I don't know how much of this is just her nature, but when I read the descriptions on the BabyPlus website, I have to believe it had something to do with it. My only word of caution is that it was louder than I expected which was a little annoying and made be worry a bit about the volume for my daughter, but her hearing is just fine!
