Be Prepared For The Unexpected

I know this blog isn't about prenatal curriculum or fetal stages of development or even the benefits of using BabyPlus.  I'm just going to write about everyday life.

It's interesting to see people's reactions when there is the threat of severe weather, especially snow and ice storms.  The grocery stores are packed with people stocking up on supplies, gas stations have constant flow of people filling up their gas tanks, and everyone anxiously watches the weather to time their commutes and travel.  It's inevitable in winter that we will have a big storm, whether it be snow or ice.  Wouldn't it feel great to know that when the threat is near, you wouldn't have to be one of the ones rushing around?  I think our children would benefit too.  Being prepared would not only keep us more relaxed but keep our minds clear just in case an emergency arises from the weather.  You never know when your power or water might go out, so it makes sense to have a game plan just in case.  For example, if you have a baby using formula, have bottled water or even premade formula on hand if you might not have access to water for some time.  There are many, many websites with emergency plans so you can devise one that will fit your family and situation.

You owe it to yourself and your family to have an action plan for weather as well as other emergencies.  Hopefully, you will never have to use one but if you do, you will be thankful you were prepared.
