As the Olympics Games come to a close, not only do we need to applaud the athletes but their families as well.  Sometimes we forget about the “behind the scenes” support system that they provide.  I truly enjoyed watching Michael Phelps in every event, not only because of how amazing he was to watch but how excited his Mom would get.  You could see the pride and joy in her reactions to Michael’s victories.  I really don’t think he could have achieved the status that he has without knowing that no matter if he came in first or last, there was someone at home who would love him unconditionally.  So, if your children are still in the womb or have children of their own, tell them you love them no matter what.  Let them know that they have a gold medal support team that is rooting for them every day and is there to love them with no strings attached.
