I really love to use the analogy that "prenatal learning does not create a genius baby any more than a prenatal vitamin creates a bodybuilder."

That makes complete sense to me.  I think the best way to summarize BabyPlus and prenatal curriculum is that it just enhances what your baby is already born with.  It doesn't promise you a perfect baby or an IQ that rivals Einstein, but there is enough evidence from testimonials to show that it will help your baby to nurse better, to self soothe and to be more relaxed and alert at birth, to name a few of the benefits.

Learning in the womb during fetal development is not completely new.  It's based on Oriental practice from thousands of years ago called "Taikyo."  If prenatal learning such as this promised smarter babies, we would have a planet of geniuses, but we can say we have over 150,000 BabyPlus babies who have experienced the wonderful benefits of using such a curriculum.  And they will continue to experience these benefits for a lifetime.

Finding information about pregnancy on the Internet can sometimes seem overwhelming, especially if you are searching for specific topics.  The key is to be creative and know some tips.

For instance, if you are searching for prenatal curriculum, you can search the term prenatal but get results such as prenatal vitamins, prenatal learning, prenatal care, prenatal development and the list goes on.  But since prenatal curriculum is quite specific, you could eventually come across it in your search but searching for "prenatal curriculum" with quotes should give you results for that specific term much faster.

With the wealth of knowledge regarding pregnancy all the way from stages of fetal development to breast feeding, efficiency on the Internet is key!  When you know some shortcuts, you can find what you're looking for much easier.

The search is done for you! Click here to learn more about BabyPlus and using a prenatal curriculum!

December is a time when we start reflecting over the past year and looking ahead to the new year while we set goals and plan for the future.  We dream of a fresh start, having a new beginning, and getting around to all the things we intended to do the previous year.

Pregnancy, however, is a one time shot to do all the things we intend to do; eating well, moderate exercise and taking care of ourselves and our unborn babies.  There is no going back and getting a chance to do those things because we meant to.

It's only natural to want to do the best for our babies during pregnancy.  We want to do everything we can during those nine months to positively influence the prenatal environment.  So many things come into play like taking prenatal vitamins, eating well, and avoiding smoking and alcohol.   These are all factors whose importance weren't always well known.  It wasn't too long ago, a pregnant woman drinking a martini was not given a second thought.  Today, we now know the affects of drinking while pregnant.

What about a prenatal curriculum?  It may not be as well known, but it is becoming more and more common and the importance understood.  Using a simple set of sounds during the stages of fetal development can play an important part in a baby's future by strengthening the foundation for later learning.

So as the new year approaches, think of friends and family that might want to receive the benefits of using a prenatal curriculum and give their babies the best "fresh start" in life!

I have a new idea for blogging today - the topic is ......blogging!

The BabyPlus Company began our blogging initiative as a tool to educate expectant mothers about the stages of fetal development, early brain development during pregnancy, and the benefits of infant stimulation using our patented curriculum of a mother's heartbeat sounds.  We have found that many parents-to-be visit our website as a direct result of Internet research of learning in the womb.

Our goal with blogging is that we want to provide information that is relevant to you.  Please let us know if you have questions for us to answer.  We want to provide the best and most current information we can about our prenatal care curriculum.  We are happy to blog about topics you are intrested in learning more about.

We hope you get to know us - the people "behind the scenes" - and that we are forming a bit of a relationship with you.  We are blogging for you!

Fruit and Vegetables - AND BabyPlus

I am sitting at my computer eating fruit for lunch, and I always think about how things I do apply to BabyPlus...... so today's thoughts are about the impact of what we do during the stages of pregnancyWe try to eat well and take care of the fetal environment nutritiously........so we need to take care of the fetal environment during critical times in early brain development.  You don’t have to "give up" all the foods you love when you’re pregnant -  you just need make sure that most of your choices are healthy ones.  Try to mix things up a bit - that way you will be getting your nutrients without getting bored with your choices.  I love fruits and vegetables, so this was not hard for me! Prenatal care is essential in the short term and the long term.  Remember - everything you do now - while pregnant - will impact your child for a lifetime!

Here at BabyPlus, most of our blogs deal with prenatal curriculum, fetal development, and learning while in the womb to name a few examples.  They are very fascinating topics and exciting to share about.

During pregnancy, there is a lot of focus on a baby's development or what life will be like after the baby is born.  These are important things to think about, but I think today I will discuss a couple of the normal reactions to all the changes during pregnancy.

When you find out you are pregnant, there can be emotions ranging from elation to fear.  You read up on everything dealing with pregnancy and join chat rooms and message boards all over the Internet.  You envision a perfect pregnancy, delivery and days to follow.  But when it all does not go according to plan, it can be somewhat of a downer--if you let it.

Every woman has different reactions to all the changes during and after pregnancy.  Whatever the emotion may be, you must take heart and know that it is normal.  Chances are that out of thousands and thousands of pregnant women, others have felt how you do at one time or another.

You feel guilty because your hair is a mess, you have a bit of baby puke on the shirt you've worn for two days straight, you've been up for what seems like a week straight and wonder how you will make it another day.  You should give yourself a break!  It's easy to feel like you should be the perfect mom even before you give birth.  Look in the mirror and see yourself as beautiful and embrace the amazing process your body has gone through!

The holiday season is here!  We have found that the gift of a BabyPlus Prenatal Education system is the gift of a lifetime! If you know someone who is pregnant, gift her and her baby with a BabyPlus for the critical period in prenatal development.  You will be giving the gift of learning in the womb!  You will be acknowledging that the fetal development period is crucial.  Using the BabyPlus will help, in the short-term, with good sleep and nursing habits.  The reason this is the gift of a lifetime, though, is because in the long-term, these children demonstrate improved school readiness and longer attention spans.  Experiencing the BabyPlus curriculum encourages strong cognitive development.

I have a BabyPlus baby. She is nine years old now.  Recently, she had to interview a business owner for her social studies teacher.  She decided to interview the owner of the BabyPlus Company.  Here is her paper:

"I interviewed the owner of the BabyPlus Company in Fishers, Indiana.  The name BabyPlus comes from the first product on the market.  Mrs. J was a mom of seven kids who believed in the product, so she wanted to help other moms with their babies.  Her business has been in progress for 10 years.  The product has been selling for seven years, though.  There is one cultural tradition called Taikyo.  Taikyo is a tradition that moms in China tap their bellies during pregnancy.  Mrs. J said that her product would be successful in other communities because the product is very universal and it can be used by mothers in the whole world.  BabyPlus is a great product!"

I couldn't have said it better myself!

BabyPlus - why parents use our system....

"Our" parents use the BabyPlus Prenatal Education system for many reasons.

One reason is that they want to give their baby the best possible start in life.  They have researched the idea of prenatal education, critical periods in prenatal development, and learning in the womb and are eager to provide these benefits to their baby.

Another reason is the bonding experience that can occur while using our educational system.  We have had many parents report that their baby is excited about the Lesson, and will kick - before, during, or even after the session ends.  These parents love the idea that they are communicating and bonding with their developing baby.

A third reason is to involve the dad as much as possible in the pregnancy.  Many of our new customers are dads who have heard about infant development, the stages of fetal development, or the benefits of infant stimulation.  Dads are happy to be a part of this exciting time, too.

A fourth reason is what we call the "grandparent factor."
What a fun phone call when a grandparent-to-be calls to order a system for their new grand-baby!  We love hearing about their upcoming bundle of joy, and they love knowing they have provided new baby with the best possible start to life.

For whatever the reason, "our" parents are trying to impact the developing baby in the most positive way possible - through the use of the mother's heartbeat sounds.

"A True Success Story"

in the words of a first-time mom when her baby was 11 days old...

"I am writing you this email to happily inform you of the tremendous success that you product has offered my child. I was working at MiMi Maternity when I was first introduced to you product and began marketing it to customers. However I became very interested when I found out I was pregnant. I began wearing the device at about 19 weeks. I would wear it not only in my home, but while at work too. At first my family thought it was funny, but were really eager to see what the outcome would be. I called it my baby's school. As time went by my son would began to respond to the lessons as he grew in utero. I had him at 38 weeks and he is absolutely amazing. People are just amazed at what all he can do. He was born on the morning of Oct. 3rd 2008. He began to nurse immediately. At one day old, his pediatrician came in to assess him and he could lift himself into a sky diving position. His doctor was very impressed. I had a few emotional problems throughout my pregnancy, and my son is a very calm baby. Like your product says, he can easily soothe himself. While in the hospital he slept through the night, and we would have to wake him up to feed him, and he continues to sleep through the night at home. He also smiles like he is 5 months old and is very alert. I hear so many doctors and other people say how they have never seen a baby do what he does. He is not even 2 weeks old, and can roll over to his side. I could go on all day about the new things that I discover, but its not just the fact that I'm his mom, it's the others who notice it. I have a friend who is pregnant and is asking is she can borrow the BabyPlus, and my sisters can't wait to get pregnant so they can use it. When I first purchased it, it was to see if my parents and others could see a difference because this is my first child, and the results and responses are out of this world. I think my son would be a great spokesman for you product. He is truly a testament to you product. I can't wait to see what the future holds for him."

How thankful am I that I get to be in Customer Service!  We are the first touch with customers and can offer reassurance and resolution of any issues.  I get to answer questions about the Usage Chart, questions about what a prenatal curriculum is, and questions about customers' orders.  I also get to share the benefits of BabyPlus with people who have never heard about prenatal learning and explain to them what a wonderful tool it can be during the critical stages of fetal development.  It's fun to hear a caller's reaction who never really knew what BabyPlus was until they talked with us.  Most are excited and realize how much sense it makes to use.

There are a lot of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving even if you don't celebrate this particular holiday.  I am thankful to be part of such a wonderful company and being able to share with others how such a simple idea can make such an impact in a child--even before they are born!

So, what exactly are the critical periods in child development?

Some people are surprised to learn that the first one is the PRENATAL period, not infancy.  So, the stages of fetal development are truly critical to your developing baby.

The prenatal period is the time from conception to birth. It is a time of tremendous growth-from a single cell to an organism, complete with a brain and behavioral capabilities, produced in approximately a nine-month period.  So - the very first critical period in child development is when you are pregnant - and this is when learning begins!

During this first critical period, why not use the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System?  This simple set of educational sounds (mommy's heartbeat) is a curriculum developed from over 30 years of clinical research.  BabyPlus parents report that, at birth and infancy, babies more readily nurse, have an increased ability to self-soothe, are more interactive and responsive, and are more interactive and alert at birth.

BabyPlus parents also report that, later in life, BabyPlus babies demonstrate earlier developmental milestones, improved school readiness, enhanced intellectual abilities, greater creativity and independence, and longer attention spans.

Every parent should provide this curriculum opportunity for their baby while in the womb.

BabyPlus is in the news - again!

This time, Houston B.A.B.Y., has recognized the BabyPlus Prenatal Education system in their "Baby Finds - the latest and greatest baby gadgets and gizmos."  In her article, author Kelsey Hunter identifies "Smart Buys for New Parents - the latest and greatest products for mom, dad, and baby."  BabyPlus is listed on page 29 of the magazine.

We are not surprised.  The idea of prenatal education is not new.  Right now it seems to be becoming a bit more widespread.  The use of the maternal heartbeat to teach learning in the womb seems intuitive to us, so we are always thrilled when others recognize the value of our educational product.

Last night, I decided to get my 13-year-old son's opinion on exactly what I do at BabyPlus.  He thought for a second and answered, "I think it's a company that sells technology to make a baby smarter before they are born."  I told him it was close but that using BabyPlus just enhances what the baby is born with.  Keeping it simple, I gave him a quick summary about how a mom's heartbeat encourages learning before birth and that BabyPlus is like that by also encouraging the learning process.  I didn't use big terms like prenatal curriculum, prenatal environment or fetal development so it would make sense to him.  I told him a few of the benefits that he would understand like sleeping better.  I then asked him what he would think if he saw his aunt using one since she will be starting soon.  He said now that he knew exactly what it was, he would think it was helping the baby.

That made me think.  Maybe the more we talk about the benefits of using a prenatal curriculum, the more it will seem like a typical part of pregnancy, like a prenatal vitamin, when my son has children someday.

Using a prenatal curriculum, such as BabyPlus, during the early stages of prenatal development can have many benefits over your child's lifetime.  A lot of moms can agree.  However, getting started can sometimes be confusing.

The important idea to remember is that each lesson is to be used an equal number of days, with the exception of lesson 16, which will be longer or shorter depending on the actual day you deliver.  Also, keep in mind that the BabyPlus Lesson Schedule is based on days, not weeks.

The Usage Chart is to be used just once to determine your schedule.  For example, if you are in your 19th week of pregnancy when you start BabyPlus, you will use each lesson twice a day for 9 days.

You will use Lesson #1 twice a day for 9 days.  Then you will start Lesson #2 and use it twice a day for 9 days.  Then you will start Lesson #3 and use it twice a day for 9 days and continue through each lesson twice a day for 9 days.  On the 16th lesson, you may go for more or less than 9 days depending on when you deliver.  Just continue with lesson 16 until you deliver.

Just a few more days until Thanksgiving.  It's important to be cautious when cooking.  But, it's even more important to be careful what your baby is exposed to during fetal development.  Making sure the turkey is cooked to the correct temperature of at least 180 degrees is one important example.  There are several others to make sure you are up-to-date on.

You're not only celebrating for yourself but for your baby too.  Give them a safe Thanksgiving.

Buying BabyPlus at a "brick and mortar" store.

The BabyPlus is a wise investment to use during the critical periods in child development.  Keep in mind that fetal development is a critical time for the development of your child.  The measurement used to be 0-3 years of age.  The measurement now is prenatal to 3 years of age.  Moms must now do everything possible while pregnant.

Early brain development during pregnancy can be impacted by our curriculum (the simple sound of YOUR heartbeat).  Simply using this innovative product two times a days will impact your baby in ways you will notice both a birth and later in life.
