Working in Customer Service, I sometimes see a trend in questions asked.  A recent question asked several times is if you have to be still while using BabyPlus.  Moms are quite relieved to learn that you can go about your daily routine during your lessons.  We have moms using it while getting ready in the morning, eating breakfast or during their commute to work.  Outside sounds will not impact the usage or interfere with the lessons.

It's exciting to let moms know that using a prenatal curriculum can actually be incorporated into their daily routines.  By making it easy to use, their babies will experience the benefits of learning for a lifetime.

Keep the questions coming.  I love to make moms feel more comfortable in their pregnancy journey!

According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2009 is the year of the Ox!

What does this mean exactly?  Well, the ox (a cow or buffalo may be used) symbolizes prosperity through fortitude and hard work.  Those born under the influence of the Ox or Buffalo are fortunate to be stable and persevering.  The typical Ox is a tolerant person with strong character.

Even though we don't celebrate these types of holidays here in the United States, we know many of "our" parents do globally.  After all, the maternal heartbeat is the one universal language that all babies know and recognize.

The simple use of the mother's heartbeat sounds are the reason we are globally in demand. We are thrilled to be adding new retail partners all over the world!  If you are pregnant and will have your baby in 2009, using the BabyPlus during the critical periods in fetal development will benefit both you and your baby.  Results of a recent survey of BabyPlus parents showed that their babies were 96% alert at birth, 83% calm at birth, and 72% nursed at birth. And, not surprising to us, 97% of BabyPlus parents would recommend our prenatal curriculum to a friend.

So, wherever you are in the world, you can celebrate knowing you have given your baby the very best start to life - in 2009 or in any year!

Happy New Year!

BabyPlus and Katie Holmes?

Well, in my opinion, yes, obviously!

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes seem to know quite a bit about children and education.  I am wondering, however, if they have ever heard of prenatal education.  One would tend to believe that with the many articles available about prenatal development, early cognitive development, critical periods in fetal development, and the benefits of learning in the womb using the patented heartbeat sounds of the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System, that they would be doing everything possible to impact the fetal environment as beneficially as possible.  After all, 97% of BabyPlus parents would recommend our system to a friend who is pregnant!

I bet Katie Holmes knows all of this, and is using BabyPlus!  (if she is pregnant......)

It's funny how certain things slip into mainstream thinking.  I just wasn't so sure about the whole idea of texting when it started.   I always thought it was just easier to pick up the phone or email.  Then, a promotion with my cell phone lured me into the world of abbreviations and quick messaging.  Before long, I was using texting lingo like a pro even though my speed still needs work.  The simplified phrases broken down to basics sure makes texting and communicating much easier.

Breaking down concepts to a simpler form can make things easier to understand or work with.  In fact, an application of simplification can even positively influence the cognitive development during the important stages of fetal development.  That is where BabyPlus comes in.  It is a simple set of sounds that encourages learning in the womb using repetition similar to a mother's heartbeat.  The idea of using a prenatal curriculum is slowly becoming more commonplace and may soon be as familiar as your BFF!  IDK, we'll see!  LOL

I previously wrote about BabyPlus' 2008 year in review.  Now, I want to share my own reflections even though 2008 seems to have flown by faster than I would have liked!

I now have two "double digit" sons, as they like to say.  That hardly seems possible because I'm only 16 (in my head!)  When did all of that happen?  I must say that they are the light of my life and even though there are days I don't think I'll make it, they do make me smile and laugh!

I have a wonderful high school sweetheart who every day lets me know that he thinks I'm wonderful and beautiful and is so thankful to have me.  Some days I question his sanity,  but I bite my tongue and know how blessed that he still feels that way after 21 years!

I learned a lot about myself this past year.  I learned a lot about my own limitations and my capabilities.  I was in a job situation that, even though wasn't a fit at the time, prepared me for where I am today.  I have learned that I am far more capable than I give myself credit and can do a lot more than I realize when I have a wonderful safety net around me.  I think in these ways I have grown more than I have in a long time and come farther than I have realized.

Coming to BabyPlus has given me a confidence that had long been hidden.  As Christopher Robin tells Pooh Bear, "You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."  I think this definitely applies to me!  I am surrounded by a team of fantastic, fabulous, wonderful people who just support and nurture each other.  I couldn't have asked for a better place to be!

In addition, I learned so much that I never knew about.  I always knew that babies hear in the womb.  I experienced that myself.  What I didn't know is that by influencing a baby during the important stages of fetal development, you can encourage benefits that last a lifetime!  Who would have thought that something as simple as the mother's heartbeat can have such a lasting effect on a baby's blueprint and that words like prenatal curriculum would be in my everyday vocabulary.  I must say it makes perfect sense especially the more you research.  BabyPlus is such a perfect fit for me because I truly believe in learning in the womb!

I'll stop my ramblings here.  It's been a long road to get here and I won't bore you with the details.  I do know that I am thankful for where I've ended up and look forward to 2009!

Ah, the day after Christmas and time for my Friday Fun Blog.  No talk about prenatal curriculum, fetal development, or prenatal learning in the womb.  Just my thoughts on life and the world around me.

This morning when I walked downstairs, the reminders of yesterday still lay all over the living room.  As I drove to work, I was bummed that I had been planning and planning and it was over.  It's like weddings.  You plan and plan, organize and make lists and imagine what the day will be like.  Then, in a matter of hours, it's done.  Are we building it up too much in our own minds or are we disappointed because a little piece of our lives will be missing?  I think it's a little of both and that a lot of our lives are spent imagining about an upcoming event.  I think it's okay as long as we enjoy the time getting there.

Pregnancy is a great example.  Once we feel movement, every day we are reminded that we are not alone.  We talk and sing to our bellies and we have our two hours a day of prenatal curriculum with BabyPlus while looking forward to a little bonding time.  It becomes a natural part of our day.  Then, when our baby is born, life instantly changes.  That little kick or funny tummy movement is gone.  There's almost an emptiness, which can be sad even when you are holding your beautiful new baby.  Add in the adjustment of hormones and you have a recipe for tears!

When we look forward to an event, we know that the day will eventually arrive whether it's graduation, a wedding or the birth of a new baby.  It's sometimes hard to fight the urge to want time to fast forward, but we must get to the point to enjoy the "trip" along the way.  Write in a journal, take pictures and scrapbook or blog your memories to preserve your journey.

I am completely guilty of anticipating something so much and wishing for the day to come then once it's over, I can get pretty down if I allow myself.  I am slowly learning that the journey is just as important and can be just as enjoyable.

I know this blog isn't about prenatal curriculum or fetal stages of development or even the benefits of using BabyPlus.  I'm just going to write about everyday life.

It's interesting to see people's reactions when there is the threat of severe weather, especially snow and ice storms.  The grocery stores are packed with people stocking up on supplies, gas stations have constant flow of people filling up their gas tanks, and everyone anxiously watches the weather to time their commutes and travel.  It's inevitable in winter that we will have a big storm, whether it be snow or ice.  Wouldn't it feel great to know that when the threat is near, you wouldn't have to be one of the ones rushing around?  I think our children would benefit too.  Being prepared would not only keep us more relaxed but keep our minds clear just in case an emergency arises from the weather.  You never know when your power or water might go out, so it makes sense to have a game plan just in case.  For example, if you have a baby using formula, have bottled water or even premade formula on hand if you might not have access to water for some time.  There are many, many websites with emergency plans so you can devise one that will fit your family and situation.

You owe it to yourself and your family to have an action plan for weather as well as other emergencies.  Hopefully, you will never have to use one but if you do, you will be thankful you were prepared.

BabyPlus was in an Australian paper -  the Sydney Morning Herald - and a few other news stories.  We are in an article on "gadgets."

We are sometimes referred to as a "gadget."  The definition of a gadget is a device or control that is very useful for a particular job.  The BabyPlus is very useful for using the mother's heartbeat sounds during the critical period of fetal development.    So, in this sense, I guess our system could be a gadget.

But, as parents, how do we know what to purchase?  How do we know if something we buy is money well spent?  The best way to know, we have found, is from other parents.  Parents who use BabyPlus recommend us to other expectant parents.  97% of BabyPlus parents would recommend the BabyPlus Prenatal Education system to an expectant mother to use during her pregnancy.  That is a great endorsement!

Please click on our logo below to see how the BabyPlus is useful for the particular job of using the mother's heartbeat sounds day by day in your pregnancy during the stages of fetal development to give your child a lifetime of learning potential.

What makes BabyPlus different and better than other prenatal products? -

Part 2

The fourth difference is the ability to actually bond with your baby while pregnant.  The bonding experience is so neat - your baby may anticipate the lessons and might even begin to move or kick when the time for his or her lesson is about to begin.  We have had parents report that in such an awestruck way!

The fifth difference is is the proven track record we have of the benefits of infant stimulation.  Results of a recent survey of BabyPlus parents show their babies were 96% alert at birth, 83% calm at birth, and 72% nursed at birth.  The same survey told us that 97% of BabyPlus parents would recommend our curriculum to a friend.

These two blogs listed some of the reasons why BabyPlus is different from other products.  My list is not exhaustive; it is simply a top five!  Click on our logo below to go directly to our website to read much, much more about this wonderful way to benefit your baby with learning in the womb.

What makes BabyPlus different and better than other prenatal products? -

Part 1

Well, the first difference is the over 30+ years of clinical research that is behind the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System.  In the results of independent clinical trials, BabyPlus babies were consistently ahead of two other groups (music and no stimulus).  Except for Brent Logan's BabyPlus technology, no other product has moved beyond anecdotes--they have not met the minimal scientific requirement of clinically controlled comparative testing, with results published in the professional literature.

The second difference is our patented curriculum of a mother's heartbeat.  BabyPlus is the ONLY prenatal curriculum to use the mother's own heartbeat to benefit her baby while she is still pregnant.  Why is the heartbeat important?  The very simple and completely obvious answer is that the heartbeat is the "language of the womb."  You baby hears your heartbeat continually; our curriculum uses a mother's heartbeat sounds because that is the only sound a baby truly understands.

The third difference is the incredible following we have with "our" parents.  We have parents recommend our curriculum to friends, we have parents who use our system with two or more children, we have parents who email us with testimonials almost daily, we have parents who call us to thank us....we believe our product has made a difference for so many people!

I have written many times about how enjoyable working in Customer Service at BabyPlus is.  I must now vent a bit about something that is a little frustrating to me.  There are people who truly do not know exactly what BabyPlus is and then feel they can write about something they don't even know about.

I guess I take it personally because I truly love this company and believe in the concept of prenatal curriculum.  It's easy to feel hurt when someone tells only half a story about an idea that is important to you.  I can respect someone else's opinion...only as long as they have all the facts and know all the details.  I know that there will be people who, even after researching, don't agree with the ideas of learning in the womb and encouraging cognitive development during stages of fetal development.  However, I know that science is always discovering new and exciting developments and it's only time before society catches up.

When the concept of prenatal curriculum is broken down to its basic concepts, it makes complete sense.  If the mother's heartbeat encourages learning before birth, it makes sense to use a derivative to reinforce it.  I think that sometimes people do not take the time to learn and make up their minds before they truly know the entire picture.  If they did, they would learn that we are not promising genius babies or perfect babies.  We are just offering a tool that enhances the blueprint that the baby will already be born with.

So the next time you think you know everything about something, take a few extra minutes to make sure you are right and that you have the whole story.

Everyone seems to be so very busy these days that a long description of BabyPlus can be too time consuming.  I believe I have perfected the "sound bite" description, which I used over the weekend at two holiday parties.

BabyPlus is a prenatal educational tool used during pregnancy.
• The sounds are patterned after the mother’s heartbeat, which is the only true sound a baby can
understand in the womb.
• It is the only product of its kind on the market.
• Moms from around the world who use BabyPlus during their pregnancy say their babies are calm,
sleep better at a young age and reach developmental milestones earlier.

I am always pleasantly surprised to hear someone remark that she has used the system.  Our message of the stages of fetal development, prenatal education, learning in the womb, and the cognitive development of each baby is becoming more and more well-known.

beyond the BabyPlus "sound bite"

To me, Friday is like a big sigh that I've made it through another week.  Even though I catch up on laundry and everything else I didn't get to during the week, I switch to a more casual mode.  The office here tends to have that atmosphere as well and celebrates a week well done.  And even though I enjoy sharing about prenatal curriculum during fetal development or pregnancy tips and hints, I think I'll use casual day to my advantage and just write a more laid back blog on Fridays.

The year is winding down and another semester is over with school.  It was a rough one, too.  My oldest started his first year in Junior High, and it was quite a challenge to adapt to seven different teachers with seven different requirements. I love him more than anything, but I can admit that he is not the most organized child (or the most focused.)  We struggled together, but I think he's actually coming around.  This morning, he told me that when he goes back to school in January, it will be a new semester with a clean slate and fresh start.  That was great to hear!  So, we'll see where we start from after two weeks of less structure.  I think he'll get it though!

Here it is, less than a week before Christmas, and it has crept up on me and is closer than I realize.  Yet every year I vow to get better.  It hasn't quite happened, but at least this year, I'm not letting it stress me out too bad.  (Maybe I'm learning from all my blogs emphasizing the fact that we put too much pressure on ourselves and should give ourselves a break!)

So, that's my week in review.  It's cold and rainy and gloomy as I look out the front door, and I am ready for the weekend to relax and snuggle in.  Then, it will be back to work on Monday spreading the word about BabyPlus and all the wonderful benefits of encouraging learning before birth.  I hope you, too, have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

How many times a day do we feel we tell our kids the same things over and over and that it just goes in one ear and out the other?  I know with my boys, I feel like I'm constantly repeating myself and they don't hear a word.  Kinda like in A Christmas Story when Ralphie is told numerous times that he would shoot his eye out if he got a Red Ryder BB gun.  But every now and then there is small evidence that they actually did hear me and absorbed what I was saying even if I didn't think they were.   Maybe the repetition eventually sinks in whether they are aware or not.

Repetition is how we learn, even before we are even born!  Prenatal curriculum is based on this idea.  The repetition of the simple set of sounds that resembles the mother's heartbeat encourages the cognitive development during the important stages of fetal development.  The way we learn is through repetition, which eventually imprints in our memory.  This in turn benefits babies in so many ways from their sleep schedule to being able to self soothe.  It's amazing to see what an influence using this simple concept could be in so many ways for a lifetime!

Click here to learn how the repeition of a simple set of sounds can have such amazing benefits!

Guys are very important, too!

Many of our customers are male - dads, uncles, brothers, even grandfathers!  (We had a grandfather who is expecting twin grandbabies...he called us...very fun conversation...but that is for another day...)  Everyone can be a part of the expectant mother's pregnancy - whether this is a first pregnancy or not - by understanding that the fetal environment is critical.

I was on the phone yesterday with a BabyPlus Uncle.  He was telling me cute stories about his 1-1/2 year old BabyPlus niece.  He was so neat - he went on and on - he told me a story of how she uses the potty!  (We make no claims whatsoever about that!)

My conclusion is that dads (and other male relatives) are more involved in the prenatal time period now than ever before.  There are even pregnancy and baby books written specifically for dads.

I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again.  There are days when I love to work in Customer Service at BabyPlus!

I received a call from an aunt whose niece had researched BabyPlus and told her that she would like that for Christmas.  Her aunt called me and placed an order.  She mentioned that her niece reads a lot about pregnancy and researches ideas a lot too.  When she looked into ordering it for her, she saw that one of our reviews was from a physical therapist.  She is a physical therapist as well and said that she was sold after reading the testimonial.  She closed the conversation saying it was going to make her niece very happy to open this gift.

We've had doctors, nurses, and physical therapists, all who are experts in the medical field, who agree that there are benefits of using a prenatal curriculum during the early stages of fetal development.  That makes it easy to understand that maybe there is something to the idea of a simple set of sounds making such an impact on creating a foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Everybody has an opinion!

Parents recommend everything from doctors to diaper cream.  Ask any mom, and she will tell you with complete confidence that one bottle type is better than another.  Or, that you absolutely should not use a certain type of lotion or stroller.  The many products available can make decisions confusing, so having a friend or relative recommend something can carry quite a bit of weight...

Well, BabyPlus parents are just as confident that the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System is a must-have for all pregnancies.  "Our" parents are adamant about the fact that the use of this early learning opportunity during the stages of fetal development will absolutely have a positive effect on your baby that lasts a lifetime.  We continually speak to parents who are truly puzzled that anyone would not use this opportunity for learning in the womb.  We agree!

Click on the link below to go to our website to read the many testimonials from parents who have given their developing baby this incredible opportunity during the very critical time in early cognitive formation.
BabyPlus parents know this is a must-have!

I love the actual sound of the BabyPlus!  Sometimes I turn the system on here in my office just to hear the soothing sounds of a mother's heartbeat.  I have such a fond remembrance of wearing the system with my fourth child, and I get a certain feeling of comfort just listening to the system.  I loved being pregnant, and I loved hearing my BabyPlus. Sometimes people walk into my office and just laugh at me - they know how much I love the sound.

Who wouldn't love a sound that is so "heartwarming", so to speak?  A mother's heartbeat?  Beyond the fact that it is a very comforting sound, it is also providing your baby the benefit of a prenatal educational curriculum during the critical periods in fetal development.  And, the reviews from "our" parents seem to indicate that this universally understood sound does indeed have a positive impact if used during early cognitive development during your pregnancy.

Click on the picture to go to our site to hear what your baby will hear.  Keep in mind, though, that the quality of the sounds you hear will greatly depend on the capability of your computer system and the speed of your Internet connection. This is for demonstration purposes only.

Listen to a demonstration of the BabyPlus sounds!

The time to make the impact is now!

You will not have a chance again to impact your baby's development in such a profound way.  We know so much about the prenatal environment, so we must do everything we can to make sure our developing baby has all the opportunities available to her.

Most people believe pregnancy lasts a long time.  Well, I believe time flies when you are trying to create this wonderful little person.  We say many times a day that providing our beneficial curriculum of a mother's heartbeat during fetal development is crucial.
