Summer can bring some pretty hot temperatures and with that means you will have to be extra careful this time of year if you are expecting. No matter what trimester you are in, prenatal care during the summer months is extremely important. Here's a few tips to keep your cool and beat the summer heat.

- Drink water - Did you know that this is the best way to keep you in optimal condition during the dead of summer? Drink 48-64 ounces of water and you should stay refreshed and well hydrated.
- Avoid the heat - This is especially important if you are in all stages through pregnancy. Don't stay outside for long periods of time, but if you have to make sure you bring an umbrella with you to catch some shade.
- Keep cool - If you can't cool down, try a cold shower, a dip in the neighborhood pool or even hose off if you are working in the yard.
