Fruit and Vegetables - AND BabyPlus

I am sitting at my computer eating fruit for lunch, and I always think about how things I do apply to BabyPlus...... so today's thoughts are about the impact of what we do during the stages of pregnancyWe try to eat well and take care of the fetal environment nutritiously........so we need to take care of the fetal environment during critical times in early brain development.  You don’t have to "give up" all the foods you love when you’re pregnant -  you just need make sure that most of your choices are healthy ones.  Try to mix things up a bit - that way you will be getting your nutrients without getting bored with your choices.  I love fruits and vegetables, so this was not hard for me! Prenatal care is essential in the short term and the long term.  Remember - everything you do now - while pregnant - will impact your child for a lifetime!

The holiday season is here!  We have found that the gift of a BabyPlus Prenatal Education system is the gift of a lifetime! If you know someone who is pregnant, gift her and her baby with a BabyPlus for the critical period in prenatal development.  You will be giving the gift of learning in the womb!  You will be acknowledging that the fetal development period is crucial.  Using the BabyPlus will help, in the short-term, with good sleep and nursing habits.  The reason this is the gift of a lifetime, though, is because in the long-term, these children demonstrate improved school readiness and longer attention spans.  Experiencing the BabyPlus curriculum encourages strong cognitive development.

The mother's heartbeat sounds are beautiful and familiar during the stages of development of a fetus.  The BabyPlus is giving the gift for the entire life span....

I have a BabyPlus baby. She is nine years old now.  Recently, she had to interview a business owner for her social studies teacher.  She decided to interview the owner of the BabyPlus Company.  Here is her paper:

"I interviewed the owner of the BabyPlus Company in Fishers, Indiana.  The name BabyPlus comes from the first product on the market.  Mrs. J was a mom of seven kids who believed in the product, so she wanted to help other moms with their babies.  Her business has been in progress for 10 years.  The product has been selling for seven years, though.  There is one cultural tradition called Taikyo.  Taikyo is a tradition that moms in China tap their bellies during pregnancy.  Mrs. J said that her product would be successful in other communities because the product is very universal and it can be used by mothers in the whole world.  BabyPlus is a great product!"

I couldn't have said it better myself!

BabyPlus - why parents use our system....

"Our" parents use the BabyPlus Prenatal Education system for many reasons.

One reason is that they want to give their baby the best possible start in life.  They have researched the idea of prenatal education, critical periods in prenatal development, and learning in the womb and are eager to provide these benefits to their baby.

Another reason is the bonding experience that can occur while using our educational system.  We have had many parents report that their baby is excited about the Lesson, and will kick - before, during, or even after the session ends.  These parents love the idea that they are communicating and bonding with their developing baby.

A third reason is to involve the dad as much as possible in the pregnancy.  Many of our new customers are dads who have heard about infant development, the stages of fetal development, or the benefits of infant stimulation.  Dads are happy to be a part of this exciting time, too.

A fourth reason is what we call the "grandparent factor."
What a fun phone call when a grandparent-to-be calls to order a system for their new grand-baby!  We love hearing about their upcoming bundle of joy, and they love knowing they have provided new baby with the best possible start to life.

For whatever the reason, "our" parents are trying to impact the developing baby in the most positive way possible - through the use of the mother's heartbeat sounds.

"A True Success Story"

in the words of a first-time mom when her baby was 11 days old...

"I am writing you this email to happily inform you of the tremendous success that you product has offered my child. I was working at MiMi Maternity when I was first introduced to you product and began marketing it to customers. However I became very interested when I found out I was pregnant. I began wearing the device at about 19 weeks. I would wear it not only in my home, but while at work too. At first my family thought it was funny, but were really eager to see what the outcome would be. I called it my baby's school. As time went by my son would began to respond to the lessons as he grew in utero. I had him at 38 weeks and he is absolutely amazing. People are just amazed at what all he can do. He was born on the morning of Oct. 3rd 2008. He began to nurse immediately. At one day old, his pediatrician came in to assess him and he could lift himself into a sky diving position. His doctor was very impressed. I had a few emotional problems throughout my pregnancy, and my son is a very calm baby. Like your product says, he can easily soothe himself. While in the hospital he slept through the night, and we would have to wake him up to feed him, and he continues to sleep through the night at home. He also smiles like he is 5 months old and is very alert. I hear so many doctors and other people say how they have never seen a baby do what he does. He is not even 2 weeks old, and can roll over to his side. I could go on all day about the new things that I discover, but its not just the fact that I'm his mom, it's the others who notice it. I have a friend who is pregnant and is asking is she can borrow the BabyPlus, and my sisters can't wait to get pregnant so they can use it. When I first purchased it, it was to see if my parents and others could see a difference because this is my first child, and the results and responses are out of this world. I think my son would be a great spokesman for you product. He is truly a testament to you product. I can't wait to see what the future holds for him."

So, what exactly are the critical periods in child development?

Some people are surprised to learn that the first one is the PRENATAL period, not infancy.  So, the stages of fetal development are truly critical to your developing baby.

The prenatal period is the time from conception to birth. It is a time of tremendous growth-from a single cell to an organism, complete with a brain and behavioral capabilities, produced in approximately a nine-month period.  So - the very first critical period in child development is when you are pregnant - and this is when learning begins!

During this first critical period, why not use the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System?  This simple set of educational sounds (mommy's heartbeat) is a curriculum developed from over 30 years of clinical research.  BabyPlus parents report that, at birth and infancy, babies more readily nurse, have an increased ability to self-soothe, are more interactive and responsive, and are more interactive and alert at birth.

BabyPlus parents also report that, later in life, BabyPlus babies demonstrate earlier developmental milestones, improved school readiness, enhanced intellectual abilities, greater creativity and independence, and longer attention spans.

Every parent should provide this curriculum opportunity for their baby while in the womb.

We know so much now!

BabyPlus is in the news - again!

This time, Houston B.A.B.Y., has recognized the BabyPlus Prenatal Education system in their "Baby Finds - the latest and greatest baby gadgets and gizmos."  In her article, author Kelsey Hunter identifies "Smart Buys for New Parents - the latest and greatest products for mom, dad, and baby."  BabyPlus is listed on page 29 of the magazine.

We are not surprised.  The idea of prenatal education is not new.  Right now it seems to be becoming a bit more widespread.  The use of the maternal heartbeat to teach learning in the womb seems intuitive to us, so we are always thrilled when others recognize the value of our educational product.

Buying BabyPlus at a "brick and mortar" store.

The BabyPlus is a wise investment to use during the critical periods in child development.  Keep in mind that fetal development is a critical time for the development of your child.  The measurement used to be 0-3 years of age.  The measurement now is prenatal to 3 years of age.  Moms must now do everything possible while pregnant.

Early brain development during pregnancy can be impacted by our curriculum (the simple sound of YOUR heartbeat).  Simply using this innovative product two times a days will impact your baby in ways you will notice both a birth and later in life.

BabyPlus - Webinar - we did it!

How exhilarating!  We completed our first BabyPlus Webinar this month.  Several hundred people signed up to hear our first speaker, Dr. Meg Landwerlen, pediatrician and BabyPlus mom.

Several people sent questions to Dr. Meg.  In fact, we had questions from all over the world!  How amazing that we have the ability to touch families from all over.  We believe this is because the BabyPlus uses a universal language - the mother's heartbeat.

You may watch Dr. Meg by visiting our website.  We have November’s webinar in the archive section.  Hear Dr. Meg's comments about prenatal education, early learning, and pediatric milestones.

Our Customer Service is top-notch - great work Shelly K!

This is a letter she received this morning:

RE: Commendation Letter
This letter is to compliment your customer service representative, ShellyK, who had greatly exceeded our expectations in her line of duty. My wife and I wish to commend her for the excellent and professional manner in which she had handled our BabyPlus replacement request. We were very pleased with the quality of service that she and your company provided.  We had purchased the BabyPlus Kit in June 2008 from Amazon and recently it malfunctioned. However, in that time, we had moved to Singapore. We were thankful to have your representative attend to us. She proactively worked around the standard replacement procedures and instead connected us with the local distributor of your product in Singapore. This enabled us to get a quick replacement without incurring expensive freight charges from the US. She was efficient, warm, friendly and personal. Such professionalism is rare nowadays. She is truly an asset to your organization and is why we will continue to recommend your company to others because of our deep satisfaction with your product and customer service.

Congratulations Shelly K!

BabyPlus.....and the Internet?  Absolutely!

This quick way to get information is great for all of us.  My teenagers occasionally get a research assignment, but we don't have to go to the library.  Most, if not all, research can be done on the web.  And, if they need a book on the topic, of course they search online for the book and, again online, reserve the book at our local library.

The fastest way to get information these days is through a quick search on the Internet.  The information "super highway " provides many, many answers to a simple search.  Do an Internet search for the term "prenatal education" - you will see about 421,000 search results.  Another term to search is "fetal development" - you will see about 1,750,000 results.  "Prenatal care curriculum" has quite a few results - about 146,000.

We have combined much information about the above topics, plus information about critical times in child development, learning in the womb, the stages of fetal development, and more, on our website.  Click on the logo below to see a condensed way to view the current information about how babies learn in the womb.

BabyPlus and Alison Sweeney

We were thrilled to be a part of Alison Sweeney's Baby shower in LA two weeks Click to read more about Alison's baby shower!ago.  Alison was recently introduced to BabyPlus while pregnant with her second child.  She is bound to see the tangible results other moms have seen. Like other moms, she will probably notice that her baby sleeps through the night quickly and easily self-soothes.  Perhaps she already knows the benefits of learning in the womb.  However she came to be aware of the idea of prenatal education does not matter.  What matters is that their baby will benefit from hearing the mother's heartbeat sounds of the BabyPlus.

This shower was delightful, plus there was a twist — all presents were donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  How wonderful and generous!  Obviously, Alison is a great woman, mother, wife, and friend.  We are so excited to have been included!

so........what exactly is this idea of prenatal care?

Well, of course, the idea of taking care of yourself while you are pregnant is not new.  Eating well and taking a prenatal vitamin while you are pregant are both widely accepted as a sound way to take care of your developing baby.

Another idea that is NOT new - although it may be new to you - is the idea that your baby can learn in the womb.  Over 30 years of clinical research has indicated that your baby will respond to the sounds of the BabyPlus Prenatal Education System - here is how:

BabyPlus babies at birth and infancy:

*more readily nurse
*have increased ability to self-soothe
*are more interactive and responsive
*are relaxed and alert at birth

And, later in life, these children demonstrate:

*earlier developmental milestones
*improved school readiness
*enhanced intellectual abilities
*greater creativity and independence
*longer attentiaon spans

The benefits of prenatal care last a lifetime!

I usually blog about BabyPlus, prenatal care, fetal development, the mother's heartbeat, and other thoughts about our wonderful product.

Today, however, I am thinking about the actual process of blogging.  We have found that many, many people have subscribed to the BabyPlus blogs.  To all of you - we say THANK YOU!  We love hearing your comments and praises.  This is one of the best things about this job!  (Truly, to open your email almost every day with great stories about BabyPlus babies from "our" parents is such a great perk!)

We are getting a change.  Change can be good.

There was a time when an expectant mother did not really do much of anything to impact the prenatal environment.  So much has changed!  One such change is that we now know that nutrition plays an important role in your baby's development.  Another change is the use of prenatal vitamins.  These are specially formulated multivitamins that make up for any nutritional deficiencies in the mother's diet.  Click on the link to read about the importance of taking a prenatal vitamin.

Prenatal care is what any mother willingly does for her baby.  That is why the many articles on prenatal development are now stressing the importance of what is happening during the stages of pregnancy.  Week by week, your baby is changing and growing.  You have a wonderful opportunity to provide your baby an education in the womb with a sound that changes every week.  This changing sound is the mother's heartbeat sounds, the only sound your baby truly understands.

Make a change!  Give your baby the benefit of learning in the womb!
